Question #1, Where is my blower resistor? Do I need to remove the glove box to get to it? I'm sure I'm being silly, but I can't find it.....I also don't know what it looks like. Mine needs replaced.


Question #2, has anyone tried to fit a 4Runner tailgate on a pick up? Is it possible to swap them? I know the 4Runner tail gate has glass in it, but I could take that out. What I'd like to do is to have the 4Runner license plate location on my truck. Then I can eliminate my rusty, broken rear bumper and have nothing hanging down.

 

The blower resistor is in the fan housing, behind the glove box. I don't think you can really get to it without remove the glove box (not tough to do, BTW).

I've never looked at the tailgate on a Runner that close, but my first thought is that it probably won't work on the truck. Your best bet would be to get your truck side by side with a 2nd gen Runner and compare the profiles of both of them to find out for sure.

 

Thanks breknraj. I'd gotten in there and felt around but didn't notice anything. Once I get the new one, I'll tear into it.

Yeah, I'd like to find somebody near me with a 4Runner so I could compare. I'd also like to see how the light comes into the tail gate to light the license plate.

 

The blower resistor is behind the dashboard... trust me... it IS there.

If you want the license plate in teh middle of yer tailgate, it's far easier to french in the plate frame with lights than it is to try to figure out how to get the 4runner gate to fit, much less work, with your truck.
