A few`91 pickup questions

whats up everyone. I have a '91 3.slow pickup

i have two questions.

1.) I cut off the tail pipe (after muffler) on my toyota pickup exhaust for a little more "noise" and i guess more flow.
will this help or hurt my gas mileage??

2.) anyone have any information on the ISR MOD that i have been hearing so much about???

It's unlikely your MPG will change much if you cut the pipe. You might find you have more torque at higher RPM's. You can always get a sleeve from your auto parts store and reattach the pipe if you don't like it.

Here's a YotaTech link for the ISR mod: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f130...4runner-75167/

Cutting the pipe will really only make your truck noisier and also increase the under-body temperatures which may lead to a fire or Carbon Monoxide poisoning. You'd be better off putting a larger diameter exhaust system with a "free-flow" CAT on your truck to get better performance.

cutting off the exhaust tip wont do a danged thing except collect gasses under the bed of the truck instead of exiting the side like normal. I cut mine even with the leaf springs exiting out the side..

I wouldnt recommend cutting up your airbox for the "ISR" mod or whatever either.
