When I got this truck the turbo was off of it and a bunch of random things disconected. So I got everything back together and tried turnning it over. It turns over fine but wont start. The timing is at the place where it's trying run but it won't. So I checked it out and it's not get spark like it should. It only spark once every five to six rotations of the motor. The signal generator is within specs, I've put in a new coil and still nada. So is it the Ignitor or no? I don't want to spend $200 if I don't have to. Oh and It's an 1986 turbo auto runner. give it some time bro. u prob got ur dist. off 190 degrees.. common problem

 

though I believe its actually off 180, not 190

anyway, did you replace rotor/cap/wires/plugs?

 

I'm guessing dist off 180*.

Don't give up hope. I went through a similar time with my 22re and just about gave up on it. Keep at it, you'll feel like a kid with a new toy when you pull it out of the driveway that first time after it's done.
