Coil spring swap on 85 4Runner
Well I've been wheeling my 85 runner for about 4 years now, I'm running skyjacker front leaves, 63" chevy rears, and all the other basic mods, lockers gears steering etc... I'm tired of having to "hop" over larger obstacles which is just the nature of leaf springs. I've been planning for a coil spring swap for a long time and Thought I should start looking for input from others.
For suspension i'm going to use stock TJ rear coils for the rear, and either coilovers or air shocks in the front. For links I'm going to use a radius arm design, Two links and a pan hard, front and rear. I also plan to remove the body and build a tube chassis.
Again, just starting to make some rough plans, and i'm looking to suggestions and input on this project. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

One simple traction bar would do the trick. If you are handy with a welder, check out budbuilt.com and copy his traction bar design for Toys. The londer leaves should be riding quite well now, and your existing flex should be quite good too. Why change? traction bar would solve the problem more easily.

There are a couple reasons I've decided to ditch the leaves. As mentioned before, the link style suspension will have better performance. Also, from my experience, when using the proper shocks, coil springs offer a much better ride. They are also a lot lighter than leaf springs and take up far less space. And, of course, you can't forget the COOL FACTOR!!
