problem with 22r

problem with 22r

ok well i just got done putting in my webber 32/36 and its gained alot of power. i changed my timing to 10. and my truck seems to desiel when i shut it off every single time. i used to think it was the return spring on the carb but i put a heavy one on and it continues to do it. any ideas??could use some help thanks

Might have something to do with the fuel cut solenoid. When they stop working on a stock carb the engine will diesel like you said. Now i dont know if a weber has a fuel cut solenoid or how it is wired up.

well basically there are no wires except for the choke. and i dont really know if its just that my trottle doesnt return enough or what.

so on the stock setup there is such a thing as an anti-diesel solenoid, I assume the weber doesn't utilize that. Here is what the haynes manual says:

Idle speed too high
Ignition timing incorrect
Intake air leak
Carbon Build up
Valves Sticking
BCDD or FICD malfunctioning <<I think you have disabled
Valve clearance incorrect
EGR malfunctioning
Fuel shut-off system not operating properly <<I think you have disabled
