89 22re 4runner died and started

Hey everyone, my truck died on the side of the road today while i was driving very slowly (probably around 20km/h). It just stalled and wouldnt start. It would crank but nothing. I ended up calling a tow truck after trying to start it for 20 minutes and brought it to my mechanic. Once the truck got there it started up no problem?! Anyone ever experience this before? Im worried now because i dont know if it will die on me again in the future with no warning. I think it might be the alarm system that i have because it stops the fuel pump from working when someone tries to steal it.

I think its a fuel related problem because it felt like the gas ran out as it studdered a bit. Then when i tried to start it again it felt like it didnt have enough gas. Third time i tried it just cranked but nothing.

My '85 did that once about 10 years ago after spending a week and a half in a shop. Drove about 30 minutes and everything just cut out. Pulled over and checked every fuse (pulled them out to visually and electrically test each one). Found nothing wrong and then tried the starter and it fired back up and has not done that again. I suspect it was some oxidation on one of the fuses or the fuse block and just pulling and replacing them may have cleaned the connections enough to return to normal.
