Its basically just a longer handle for your socket wrench.

What I did to 'make' a breaker bar was to go to Home Depot and buy a 18-24" section of iron pipe, with enough diameter to fit over the handle of a 1/2" drive socket wrench.

The added length gives you more torque to bust those stuck nuts and bolts free.

It's a wrench extension to give you more leverage. I used my floor jack handle as a breaker bar. You can also use a pipe, just put the wrench handle inside the pipe and loosen up that bolt.

Had the same problem myself. I used it as a great excuse to go to the store and buy an inexpensive impact wrench and a 17mm socket. Total expenditure wasn't much, it made the job easy, and now I own an impact wrench for those few times it's needed.

Of course, as eager as you are to slap that puppy on, you're probably already half way to Home Depot by now and won't read this post until you've already bought a breaker bar ... :pat:

Just get a long handled torque wrench. That did it for me and I've used it a lot since then

how long do you think he will spend trying to align it up perfect until he realizes, that its going to be uneven on one side or the other?

I betcha hes going to park it outside his window and just stare at from bed all night.
