Hello everyone, i just bought a 2001 4runner last night, and it did not come with a keyless entry. I think a 2001 sr5 limited should have it? Does it? Thanks in advance!

 

Check under drivers seat for Main Control Unit. If there you may only need to purchase remote fobs from ebay. Someone else can chime in, but i'm sure the alarm model for your year is the RS3200

The 4runner model should be either a SR5 or a Limited, not both.

The SR5 does not have keyless entry as a standard feature, it was part of upgrade package #1.

The Limited had keyless entry standard.

 

And if you do have keyless entry, you can buy an OEM keyfob on ebay for about $30 and program it yourself (comes with instructions, usually).

 

its an SR5, i thought the gold emblems were only on the limited. There is no elcetronics under the seat, i guess its off to bestbuy for keyless entry unit!

 

You may still have keyless entry and just not the remote, my SR5 (2002) does not have any controls under the drivers seat and it still has it.

Do you have these options (they were also included in upgrade package #1):

Air conditioning?
Power windows?
Rear luggage cover?
Component front speakers?
Power antenna?
Floor mats?

 

it has all of those accessories. I called the local toyota dealership, i gotta get the vin and they can tell me if it had it or not. If it does, ill just order one.
