Sweet.. Look what I just bought

Nice, Eh?$100 for 4 wheels, lug nuts, and some 1/4" spacers (if I need them)
So.. What is the best way to clean them?? any spray on products that work well on bare alloy?? I can buff if I have to, but I would love to clean them first..
Now if I only had my dang truck...

Nice find Lee.
They look like uncoated alloy from my end of the 'Net.
If so, get a good brand of polish for them.
Centerline recommended to me back in '99 to use Eagle One Billet Polish for their wheels, and mine are uncoated alloy.
The stuff works great.

Be sure to watch the vid on the above URL.
It will show you how black the rag gets from an uncoated wheel such as I have.
Coated wheels you don't get the back since they have a coating on them.

WTF was that up there???Anywho.. Corey, don't you have that buffing cone kit.. I am going to need more than a "hand job" on these
I was looking at "Eastwood" and they have a kit for $40.. They are uncleared wheels.. I have no idea on brand, there is no markings on them. I am missing a couple rivets on one, but the guy who sold them to me is going to remove some from a spare wheel and send me some.. So I can just epoxy them back in. I don't have to have a show shine.. But I don't want to acid them and have them turn white..

Lee, sorry for the confusion earlier, the matter has been taken care of.
I have the cones, but I found them very hard to use with my cordless drill, as it doesn't have enough oooomph.
If I had a pneumatic drill, it would be better.
My cordless drill just doesn't have the RPMs.
I have seen the Eastwood wheel buffing machine before, and it looked good.

Nice score Lee. I was gonna say the detailers acid, but yeah, they would turn white. Try aluminum jelly...made by naval jelly. It's probably like acid, I used it years ago before I got into detailing, but I remember it brightened up aluminum. One of your wool cutting pads on your he-man buffer should do the buffing nicely on most of the rims...hand job the rest. Buffing aluminum is messy work...just send 'em to Corey already.

I think it's time to wash the rags, or pitch 'em.
Good call on a hardcore buffer Brian.
I know the Porter Cable won't work, since it's got the slipage built into it when you press down with it.
I tried using mine a few years ago, and it's a no go.

Well I bought some "Eagle 1" cleaner and that helped, but not close yet.. I also bought some wadding cloth and a can of Mothers polish.. It made it fair, but not good enough. So it is off to power tool land for me! I am going to get that Eastwood kit I think

Well, just an update to bring it back up.. I have the rims "clean now" by using some heavy duty acid cleaner.. They are now flat, dull, and whiteish.. But almost perfectly clean! Now I am going to give it a go at buffing them! I may still try to buy some small dremmel buffing wheels for around the rivets..
