I'm currently running a Pro-Comp stage 2 4" lift front and rear.I find the rear coils way to soft for everyday driving,even worse when fully laoded with gear she will sag 1.5" to 1 3/4. does anybody have any good ideas on a fix for this??? I've been trying to source a replacement set of coils that will give me the height and heavier spring rate for stability but with no luck!!! I know a coil spacer will help sag but not the softness issue.

im running the downey 3 in heavy duty kit

includes 1.5in longer springs with 20% higher spring rate and a 1.5 in spacer. i ended up with over 3in rear lift due to the higher spring rate in the rear. i think youd be happy with it

 

but if he got a bit over 3 inches from that kit..wouldnt he still be sagging..since he is running the four inch lift?

 

well, it might be a little lower, id say maybe 1/4 to 1/2 in with the back end unloaded but thats a helluva lot better than the sag he's talking about getting with those low spring rate springs. The HDs will take alot more weight on before they lower down. im not familiar with the pro-comp lift, is it just longer springs or is there a spacer etc? (we're talking rear only)

 

i got longer springs on mine. i dont find mine too soft like hes talking about though. mine have came down a bit, but thats only due to my custom bumper and 33inch spare and hi lfit mounted down there. not that much for concern. if it eventually bothers me, ill just put a 1inch spacer up top from daystar

 

do they make bigger spacers? if he went with the HD coils and a 2in or so spacer that would be almost perfect for what he's lookin for

 

Hay guys,thanks for your input.the problem is trying to match the height of the front lift with the back. the rear Pro -comp set up has drop brackets for the control arms and a longer spring

 

with a 33' spare ,highlift jack,back country goodies,custom bumper about 8olbs she'll sit 1.5 to 3/4 lower then the front.meybe the spacer idea is the only way to go...

 

yeah, i think that daystar makes a 2 and 1/4 inch spacer...right around there...but...it might bring up the rear a bit too much ...if you run a google search on daystar spacers for 4runners im sure you can find something

 

the idea of a HD springs and larger spacer sounds like a possability also

heh, i have an arb and winch up front...maybe i just never noticed cause now the sag is all the way around evenly. anywho..good luck on your search! welcome to the board by the way!
