I need info on trailmaster suspension lifts!!!!

 

instead of trailmaster check out trail-gear, Marlin crawler and Allpro offroad, theres also a few other good ones but yeah youll like what you see

 

i bought a 4" lift but it came with no instructions i got the layout of the parts just cant figure out where some go

maybe this will help Tech support for trailmaster if not search the web more for the instructions. that or call them and have them send you some.

One more thing you could do is post a pic or two of parts you need help with and that could help others help you

 

Where do the brackets go, in the picture it is the two up front looks just like the ones that support the crossmember, and also the pair of small brackets between the actual crossmember brackets........? understand

 

basically all 4 90 degree angled brackets and the two "C" frame brackets

 

Here is as detailed as I can get... I have the same lift hopefully going in soon.... Mine however had no instructions due to getting from a junk yard.

I had a Trailmaster lift on my 87 truck it wasn't to bad but definitely had its flaws. (i did some parts trading and got my lift free so i couldn't complain)

A side note when installing the rear cross member you will want to cut a piece of pipe or square box steel that can be used as a spacer so you don't crush the Rear Lower A-Arm drops when tightening the bolts that hold the rear cross member on. If you plan on doing any major wheeling you will want to fab up a heavier cross member for the rear A-Arm drops.

 

I have the exact same lift on my 93 4Runner but with the rear coils instead. The front took a little figuring out but the rear was easy. The only trouble I had with the front was one of the camber adjusting bolts was seized in the bushing collar. We ended up having to cut it out with a sawzall then get a new bushing pressed in. I like the lift as I only do mild wheeling and camping with it offroad. I have only aligned it once in a year and it steers great. I agree that if you are going to do more aggressive wheeling, you should beef up the rear crossmember. We also got some larger bolts for the front and rear crossmembers as the there was too much play. If you need help, let me know and I could take some pics. I am up in Edmonton, Canada and it is snowy so I would have to wash it first. Cheers.

 

i preciate it but i will only do minor wheeling for now no rocks or heavy crawling as of yet.

Well it has been quite a while since i installed my lift but from what i remember it was fairly easy i only had to cut one piece on the truck. I believe the pro-comp lift is identical to the trail master.

The part you have to cut is on page 5, Illustration 2. you have to cut one of the lower A-Arm brackets so the front differential will lower onto the new mounts.

The part i spoke of on my previous post is on page 6, Illustration 4. The Pro Comp instructions recommends using short bolts where i just used a spacer and put a long bolt clear through the lower A-Arm mount to hold it tight.

When i got my kit it was missing most of the drop brackets for the Brake lines and the rear equalizer. I just took some steel strapping and made some new ones

I didn't have these instructions when i did my install either but i did it over a weekend easily. Take some pics If you have any problems feel free to PM me.
