83 yota swaping in 91 drivetrain help!

What is needed to swap in a 91 toy drivetrain? I know about all the efi stuff but do I have to fab up a new cross member or will the rest bolt right up?

Depending on the motor, If your thinking the 3.0L V6 then motor mounts/wheel well trimming, Custom oil pan to clear the axle or lift, Splicing the wiring harness together(steering column, stereo, lights, heat etc etc etc...) Fuel tank swap(efi tank), most likely custom drive shafts but not 100% sure aswell as cross members.

The guy wants 1500 for everything, does that sound unreasonable?

Assuming it runs, I think $1500 is not too bad. I believe you will need to use his driveshafts since the later 22re tranny (W56 I think) is longer. Hmm, by saying that I guess that means you will need his tranny x-member as well. I think the motor mounts should be fine. Good luck with the swap, I think you will enjoy the efi in your '83.

I wish he had the truck still, He pulled everything and junked the rest. Any ideas for a cross member or can I get my shaft to fit?

Could get a crossmember from Budbuilt or maybe Sky or one of the other manufacturers. I really don't think you can use your old shafts, your rear will be too long and your front too short. For the front, a lot of people make their own out of square tubing, but the rear will need to be balanced and professionally done.
