Might want to check with sparkplugs.com.

I have found them to be really competitive and have good service as well.

I always use the "rewire" O2 because the plug and plays are usually outragous.

A quote straight from the URD link I posted...

"Are you confused about the correct replacement O2 Sensors needed for our truck? URD is selling direct OE-Original Equipment type DENSO O2 sensors. These are direct replacement (not the universal cut & splice) sensors. The Oxygen Sensors are available at a great discount. When shopping, please add one sensor at a time to your cart."

the front (before catty) sees the majority of the crud
BTW: 100% plug and play.... basically OEM.... You may want to swap out the nuts 2 if they start looking shady , I live in chicago (much salt) and i'm ashamed to say that I spent 2.5 hours on the job and those nuts were on there solid....a horriblely tough job involving knuckle damage

I guess you're not getting a code for either one? I'd never replace the rear one unless the code was popping up. The front one is the one that the ECU uses to help adjust the air/fuel ratio (most important) The rear one just tells you if the cat/cats are working good enough for the EPA to be happy.

X3 on the URD sensors, that's where I'd go for a new one.

Mike, 2001 and on Tacomas were all cali spec (ie they were 50 state approved). If you are just replacing the sensor for gas mileage, change the precat sensor and make sure it is an air/fuel sensor NOT a standard O2 sensor. Best place to get them is URD (my preference) or Sparkplugs.com and as always, Denso brand only!

ill have to verify that on my 02 tacoma. URD wants 140-150 some dollars for the oem plug and play O2 sensor, to me thats not cheap. ill keep shopping around. i am not throwing any codes at all but if i can find one for a good price ill go ahead and buy one bc ill need one soon anyway, she has 105k miles on her and has a slight rough idle but gas mileage is still good.

You can see that they changed in 2001 to the 50 state version (Tacomas and 4runners) right on URD's site:
http://www.urdusa.com/product_info.p...s_id=430006000

234-41XX = O2 sensor
234-900X = A/F sensor

A/F sensors are usually 2X the price of a regular O2 sensor, so yep, they aren't cheap at all.
Luckily the after cat sensor is still just a standard O2 sensor though.

HEY,
No doubt... CHAMPION TOYOTA (out of Texas, i think) they'll give you 25% to 40% off WITH FREE UPS SHIPPING AS PER THE "Yota Tech DISCOUNT" (no tax either if you are out of state) Be sure to double check as they accidentially charged me sales tax a few times and I live in IL....
Also carefull a new girl at the parts desk screwed up a spark plug order on me 2 times ...
kind of my fault that I didn't CLEARLY tell them it was a 99' 3.4 litre....Spark plugs showed up and they were single electrode...kind of scarry if it was some other part.... they were cool and sent me new plugs and told me to keep the old ones...

Also, you ONLY need a "A/F sensor" (instead of the "o2 sensor") IF you have a CALIfornia model/VIN # right...?

To clarify, I believe two cats means you need the A/F sensor in 3rd Gen 4Runners.
