lets see your bobed beds

I just started on mine Friday but did not get a chance to work on it this weekend. It's part way welded in these pic's. I'll post up some more of the bed once I'm done.

The section I removed.

I took out 12 inches and the frame sticks out about 3 inches past the bed. I'm going to cut off the end of the frame and weld a bumper to it. I have chevy springs and I plan on cutting it off an inch or two after the shackle hanger (3-4 inches off the frame) so it will be flush with the bed.

Watchin u guys cut into these beds makes me cry deep inside
Considering they are super hard to find in decent shape up here. Most ive seen are all eaten up by rust cancer and every once in a while i get to see a good one rolling on the highway
and am soooo jealous.
Revised:Look to the left. OMG

We didn't do the work, we seen an add on CL, somebody was selling toyota body parts.
My gf bought her truck and it looked as if it's been rolled, with only about 3-5 inches of fender left etc... So we jumped on the body parts.
The bed and bed liner are bobbed 9 and 1/2 inches.
It was a steal of a deal too, all sheet metal, doors, fenders, hood, and bed for 400$.
I had to cut the frame right to the shackle hangers.
