I got a 99 4runner the other day and was trying to get the spare down to check the pressure and tighten it up a bit cause it was loose. The tool used to get it down has never been used but I can't for the life of me get it to work. So i shined a light in there and saw that it looks like it has been wallowed out. What can I do to get the tire down? Is there a replacement part that I can get to fix this from Toyota? I don't want to take any long trips till it is fixed. Thanks

 

So you're saying the square drive socket isn't square any more?

 

the tool used to crank the tire down and up has never been used and is square as can be. the piece under the 4runner that the tool goes into is wallowed out. I don't understand why?
