Well something like that is a kit that if someone had a tiny bit of entrepreneur in them, could build and sell to the masses.

 

Well only problem with mass producing a motor that, lets face it, ain't what the average joe is trying to soup up, is the lack of potential buyers. I would bet that a kit like that would cost a pretty penny. I personally would love to have a turbo on my truck I just don't think that there will be many of us that could fork up that much dough

 

His one off cost $700 not factoring in a wage for his time. I bet a production version would be closer to $1200-1500 factoring in engineering support and all the other fun stuff of running a business.

Still, it might be worth it to many. I mean just selling 100/year is $150,000 a year of business. That's not bad for one product.

No real explanation of how he got the fuel management to work. Bolting on a turbo - even a clean install like that is great - getting it to live is harder.

There was at least one "remote mount" 3.0 turbo here posted on yotatech a while back. Fuel was managed via an extra injector run in closed loop with a wideband - fuel added via megasquirt only in boost.
