2nd gen 4runner dash in first gen

Putting 2nd gen 4runner dash in first gen (87)

Anyone know if this is possible? My dash is cracked and second generation 4runners with mint dashes seem to be a dime a dozen in junkyards around here.

I can't say for sure, but from looking at my 1st and 2nd gen dashboards it won't fit. The cab shape and size and the bolt holes/mounting locations are very different. If you were to try, it would be a lot of trouble.

EDIT: Well, I suppose it depends on the years.

IN talking about putting something like a 90-93 in my 87. Just trying to see how much cutting, drilling, and splicing is required.

I did it in my 87 pu. Would not do it again. Lots of issues, to many to list. I did it because I wanted to upgrade 22r to 22re and the wiring harness was different out of the 90 doner truck.
