bolting a 87 tranny to a 81 22r???

bolting a 87 tranny to a 81 22r???

Can this be done? My truck has a 4 spd and i want a 5. any better suggestions?

if it came from a 22r it should bolt to a 22r, may need hydro lines.

Are you going to swap t-cases two, maybe a drive shaft flange issue. Get a new flange, easy fix.

it is longer (your current transmission is 20.75" long, a donor 5 speed is more than likely 25.25" long so it is just not a direct bolt in.).. plan on moving the crossmember and a shorter DS in back and Longer DS up front...

it will be both the tranny/transfer and i can get the 87 DS's and crossmember. my buddy rolled is 87 and is parting it. i know that i will still have to get the rear shortened, but will the 87 front DS work?

no the ifs driveshaft doesn't flex enough at the cv but as for bolting up and working yes expect to cut floorboard also.
