Parts From eBay Stores

Hey guys, I am going to be doing my timing chain, and water pump soon, and have been told to check out Engnbldr.com for the replacement kit for aorund $200. Anyway, I was kicking aorund eBay and I can get a brand new timing chain kit, with oil pump, timing cover, and water pump, all brand new for around $150 shipped.

I just wanted to get people's opinion of these parts from eBay. The parts that I was looking at are made by ITM. Does anyone advise against buying parts from eBay? Have any of you ordeered parts from eBay? Should I pay an arm and a leg to get parts locally or from engnbldr?

Just wanted some opinons before I decided what to do. Thanks.

the thing about ebay is they have a great selection, but its caveat emptor. you may get a GREAT part, and you could get a part that is either incorrect and then be unable to contact the seller, or it breaks within a few hundred miles. as i said: CAVEAT EMPTOR

Ted stands behind his parts, and is willing to give help and advice if you ask for it.

The steel guides are a plus too!

do a search, and you'll find nothing but good things about him on here.

It's ok to buy on ebay, as long as you're buying from engnbldr on ebay.

Once you see how involved the job is I think you'll be glad you bought the parts that won't fail in 5000 miles. His stuff is just a little more than the rock bottom stuff is, is much higher quality, and has a great reputation. Splurge and treat yourself, and definitely get the steel drivers side rail. That's the part that fails and messes up the chain and cover.
