What Transmission was behind the Supercharged 3.4L?

What transmission would have been used behind the supercharged 3.4L in a 1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4 Automatic? I am looking for the Code, or any other information. IE Full time 4x4 or part time etc etc. Please help if you can!
Thanks
Rob

All 4Runners are part-time 4x4 and all the auto's are the same. Supercharged or not. If you search transmission(s) or something on here you could probably find the code.

I think the 1999 has a different transfer case but the transmission is the same - A340F.

that's where the difference lies because of the multi-mode 4WD option that was available in the 1999 and later 4Runners. and as stated above, all 3rd gens are part-time 4WD.

Yes it is different. So is the difference just in the transfer case? I have the multi mode transmission so I am trying to get the codes together. So the transmission is the A340F. Ok thats a start.

yes just the t-case is different.
You had the "AWD available" (just what i call it) t-case like my 99-ltd.
It uses the same tranny as all other 4runners, just a different t-case.

So are the differentials different or basically what I want to know is can I swap this transmission and transfer case into a 1998 without any difficulties? I know there are dash switches that vary but what else?

the differentials have differences on the gear ratio and some rear diffs have the e-locker. however, these will not affect your tranny and t-case swap. with the new t-case, you'll also need the transfer lever that came with the new t-case but is attached to the tranny.

then you'll need a shorter rear propeller shaft and a longer front propeller shaft to accomodate the longer multi-mode t-case. the angle of the rear propeller shaft is now steeper so you'll need the one with a double-cardan joint at the t-case side.

i don't know if there are addtl electronics (oher than wiring and switches) needed for the addtl sensors in a multi-mode t-case
