Hydraulic clutch feels like a cable clutch

this is on my 89 truck. when you push the clutch pedal in it feels like it is the old cable style system, hard to push, nothing like my 87 4runner that is smooth. i has no leaks, and i don't know what kind of clutch the PO put in it, my guess is oem, but that is just a guess. it just feels like the old cable system is my best explanation.

Could it be it just has a stronger pressure plate in it?

maybe. i ran marlins 1200# setup and it did not feel like this. i am going to bleed the system and see if that helps. just feels like the old cable system. stiff.

Maybe your slave cylinder is sticking. I have had mine do that. Pull the boot off it and spray the hell out of it with some oil.

bleed the system, and it did not help. may just be the truck. i'll install the marlin clutch in a couple of weeks.

Was the truck sitting around for a few weeks before you got into it?
I only ask because while I was on a vacation my golf sat for 3 weeks and when I picked it up the clutch was stiff as hell, it eventually went back to normal over the next day or two...I have no idea why it happend, I thought the dude whos house it was at bagged the snot out of it, but it never moved; maybe a dried out gasket or some sort of seal was all I could think of.
