3rd gen with 4th gen shocks/springs?
#3
Don't have to be anal, it's just a question. Maybe a couple years ago, someone said, "Anyone ever try the front coils/struts ff a Tundra?"
It could be the next big thing, I doubt it, but ...it could happen.

Ive never heard of it being done. You'd have to do a lot of measuring, then decide if it would screw up your geometry, and if so, then modify it to work. In the end, it will probably be more expensive, and much more work.
In the end, there are so many options for our model trucks! We have almost as many aftermarket parts as Jeep!

I don't think they are compatible and 4th gen Runners sit lower than most 3rd gens anyway so it really wouldn't be an upgrade. Last gen Tacoma front shocks and coils don't fit 3rd gen Runners.

it will work if you have a 2wd as the lift will be too much for a 4wd vehicle due to the cv angles being too extreme. someone on ttora did this to their taco and it lifted well over 3" so you can imagine what it can do to your cv's.
if you have a 2wd, do it i guess? but i'm not sure what you do with the rear...
if you have a 4wd, you're asking for trouble even if you add diff drops...
btw you're still better off doing the tundra lift... check around for info by bamachem (no longer a member here but you'll be able to find him elsewhere).
