Can you put a '96 engine in a '95 4Runner?
I own a '95 4Runner whose engine I'm sad to say is shot. My goal is to get a rebuilt motor that I can supercharge to get excess power for colorado altitudes. My understanding is that in the V6 4runners you can only supercharge the motor if you have a '96 or above. Is that true? If so, can you put a 96 motor in a 95?

If your goal is to supercharge the 96 isn't the best year to use but it can be done for sure. After around 97 the 5VZFE ECU is better at compensating for the extra air of the blower. 2001+ is even better because they replaced the front O2 sensor with an A/F ratio sensor.
