so i think i blew up my motor today.... now what?!
Went wheelin today at Tahyua. i entered a puddle that was deeper then i thought (another guy was playing around in it on the other side and wasnt as deep) water went over the hood and up to the windshield when i entered and then my 35s disappeared. the truck then died gracefully. as if i had stalled it. pull me out pulled the spark plugs and tryed to turn it over only to find a loud cruch and then grinding noise. then we tried pulling me to get the crank to turn. the wheels would lock and skid. dragged it out the the paved staging area, drove down to get cell service to call AAA. came back and tryed dragging it again, this time in 2HI 4th gear, STILL the wheel locked and wouldnt turn. any ideas it wont turn the crank even wiht all the plugs pulled? what did i break?

Sorry to hear that Chris.

See you should have stayed down here.
Where you dont have web feet and hydro'd motors.
See if it will dry out and put some gas and oil in the cylinders try to hand crank and if you get any movement let it rip and see what happens. cant really break it any more than it is can ya.
good luck.

Get the BIG can of WD-40 and spray the hell out of everything that could possibly be full of moisture. It won't harm anything and is perfectly safe to use on electrical connections too(non-conductive). It's excellent for removing water from where it shouldn't be.
Hint:The "WD" stands for "Water Displacement". That is what it was made for, displacing water on/in mechanical and electrical equipment. Specifically developed for the U.S. armed forces to use on ballistic missles, but it works on trucks too.

Was the air filter soaking wet? You know the stock intake is directly behind the driver headlamp.
I've seen a couple of rod let go on 3.0l, I'm not sure if the rod broke or the failure was the nut/stud.
That much water could have killed the starter. Can you crank it over with a socket/wrench on the crank pulley?

That tells me you threw a rod or bent on and it is jammed against the block. I'd look for a new engine.
