Brake lights stick

every time i press the brake the lights stick on, i have to tap the pedal once or twice to get it to go off. im afraid its gonna drain my brand new battery, what should i do correct this problem.

I dunno too much about electrical, but I can tell you that you probably have a switch that is going out, or something along those lines. Hope that helps at least a little.

look under your dash at the brake pedal . your switch is up by the top of the pedal. see why the pedal is not contacting the switch. might just need to adjust it.

Brake Light Problem

Switch may be bad ( about to commit electro-mechanical suicide) , may need some lubricant (lubricating Momentary Switches is good for switch if you use the proper lubricant ), or switch may be loose (mounting hardware) , heck could be just a wire has fallen in the way keeping pedal arm from depressing switch or wire harness plug may be loose , probably a simple problem
