So I called Toyota Canada today and they wanted $1100 for MAF, Toyota in they wanted 650, any where to get it cheaper?

Ebay is a good place for them for sure.

If you have a 5VZ-FE (3.4L) motor, then you need a MAF.
There's a few different models that use the same MAF (not just 4runner/tacomas):

If you have a 3VZ-FE (3.0L) motor, you need an AFM not a MAF and those are more expensive.
Once again there were several vehicles that used the same part.

I tried eBay for the MAF, it is for the 2.7 3RZ but it's for the 97, where I have a 95, and the numbers on top don't match. Not sure if it matters, but I didn't buy it because I didn't want to risk it.

Often the parts that come out of your Toyota will be different. Part numbers change and are often updated. Don't let that scare you.

 

Well I have learned enough from my Rx7's to know they can change enough from year to year, maybe Toyota is different. So you're saying a 98+ MAF should work? Would a V6 MAF work on the 4cyl?

Well in a last ditch effort to not have to buy one, I sprayed the MAF with a different kind of contact cleaner, and it worked pretty well, the scanner has a green light instead of a yellow one like before, so it appears that I have fixed it.

 

You probably didn't use the right stuff to clean it.......contact cleaner doesn't work very well at all IMHO.

Before I used brake clean, I have used it on other cars with great results, not on my truck tho, I went to Crappy Tire, bought the 5.99 contact cleaner, and it worked perfect, I have already noticed an improvment in mileage.
