Supercharger on High Mile engine

I have searched and didn?t come up with anything... I have 178,5XX miles on the 3.4 4runner. I wouldnt mind a little more power plus sowhere down the road I may be upgrading to a lift and 285 or 255 plus steel bumpers.
If I do a compression check and all looks good what would be some potential faults in my plan? If I do it I will go all the way w/ fuel mods and all.

It would be cheaper to regear to obtain somewhat close to stock power.

When the lift and tires come it will get regeared as well. But I want more power before and after. I like the thought of close to double the hp.

I'd rebuild/swap out the top end of the engine, just so you can be sure that you won't get left stranded...well, mostly sure.
