New owner overhaul...need advice!

I just bought an '85 SR5 4Runner w/ 225k miles on her and it's been sitting for some time. I need to change out the fluids and get on a regular maintenance schedule, and wanted advice for fluids, manufacturers, etc?

Also, what are the cheap/easy mods to start with on the 22re?

Thanks!

do a full tune up adjust the vavles, and replace the timing chain if it is more than 120k old, while your there replace the camshaft and valve springs

Hell if you've got the time why not just do a complete overhaul? Assuming the body and chassis/suspension are still pretty solid and rust-free, I think it'd be well worth your time

The timing belt had been done just before I bought it, but I do have a little valve tap, so I need to pull the v/c and adjust that. I am looking at the LC engineering cam shaft, but that may have to wait for a little while. For now I have quite a bit of rust I need to fight off and I need to find a good local exhaust shop to fab me up something.

What problems arise by installing 4.88 gearing with fairly stock tires? I ask because I bought it with studded snows, but want to go to 32" BFG A/T's after the winter. I want to install a Lock-Tite in the rear, and figure I should re gear at the same time. Can I do it now with the small tires without much of a problem, or should I wait and do it all at the same time?
