Question Neeed Help

hey guys i ned some major help with my 3rd gen 4runner, the other day i was startin to put on my lift when i came to a major roadblock. i had it up on jack stands with the tires off and took the bolt off that connects the upper controle arm to the steering knuckle and then i could not get the upper controle arm off at all it wouldnt budge i even took a hammer to it as a last resort. does anyone know of a way that i could get it off? anny suggestions would be much appreciated thanx guys

Shouldn't you be unbolting the lower control arm instead of the upper? That's the way I've done it in the past
