What are the exacts of the swap you are doing? I just got my 93 4runner running and the engine is a 2001 tacoma. I have a wiring helper thread open already. Which has diagrams that work. If you have any questions feel free to ask. To bad I'm not closer, I used to drive through St. George all the time going to Cedar city.

donor 3.4 is a 97 4runner 5speed 4x4, recipient is a 93 pickup 5speed 4x4. i bought the whole runner after a roll, which happened to be the only time it'd been offroad i think. and i haven't thrown any of it away feering id neeed something else off it. the truck is actually in kanab but im more than willing to drive to stg. and probably cedar for help. wiring worries me ive popped a computer before and it stresses me out pretty good.

Here is the thread. All you are doing is splicing the dash and body harness to the 3.4 engine harness. Great to hear you have the entire vehicle to pull from. There are plenty of little parts that you end up needing.

I used all the 3.4 engine accessories. Alt,power steering, EVAP canister. Stuff like that. I felt is was better for future parts replacement. Use the 3.4 alt. harness and keep it with the 3.4 engine harness. Seeing as its all there, and plugs into the 3.4 Alt.

Cap off? You can cut it off. The thing is you are removing anything that was 3.0 engine harness and you are replacing that with a 3.4 harness. You will want to also sign up for the Toyota diagram site. TIS and pay the money to download all the stuff you can for your vehicles both of them. Then go over these diagrams till you are familiar with the parts that you are swapping in and the wires that correspond with them.

I used the 3.0 alt, as it fits the same as the 3.4 except for slight modification to the lower bracket. Which I believe is mostly due to the bracket being so close to the steering rod. Then you just use your stock wiring. And that is it..
