Cool 3rd Gen Front end swap

Most of us here already know that there is a split in the 3rd gen 4runners. No one ever really differenciates but I sorta did that and call them 3rd gen 'A' & 'B' I know that if you go out to try to purchase accessories for a 3rd 'A' you can't use the same items for a 3rd 'B'. So here in is my my question ... how difficult or has anyone done this yet, thought about it or considering doing a swap of 3rd gen 'A' (96-98) bumper/valence with a 3rd gen 'B' (99-02)? I like the driving/fog light set up of the 'B'. Just another thing to dress her up a bit. I am also wondering about the hood from the 'B' with the hood scoop, are these interchangable as well. Have a gr8 Labor day weekend everybody!

Subscribed, I have been thinking about doing the swap as well. Anyone know what kind of work is involved?

The hood will fit. I read somewhere that the bumper is a direct bolt up as well but there is a framer crossbar or extra bracket in the '99 bumper that you need to mount it.

Iceman, thanks for the link. Will have to investigate the local yards to see if a front bumper is available. If I find one for a reasonable cost, I'll document the swap with lots of pics. Anyone else do this please post to this thread. Thanks

Guess what!

I happen to have a bumper in prestine condition with both fogs sitting in a storage unit. The bumper is off my my 00 sr5 with no flares, but I bought a set of bushwackers so if anyone needs either the small black ones or the big color matched ones I can handle that aswell. I have all of this stuff left over from my TJM swap. Just send me a PM if you want...

Ritzy, how much for the 96-98 lower valence when you do the swap?

I need the lower valence for my 98.
