The Buildup Continues

The Buildup Continues
Completed my ARB bumper, lights, and winch installation today. Horsing that bumper onto my truck by myself was no easy task, but I didn't have the patience to wait for help! I only cross threaded one bolt in the process
Corey, the four additional holes on our bumpers are for reattaching the stock anchor point/tow hook.
I still don't have the front lift on yet, so for now I am lovingly referring to her as the 'Munstermobile'. I am taking pics, but they are the old kind (real film, paper prints) because I don't have a digicam. I will post pics of the Munstermobile as soon as I get them developed.
BTW, when I was replacing my rear springs, I bent the heck out of the stock leaf spring shackles because they were so solidly rusted in place. I figured hey, I will go pick up a few new ones for about $10 or $15 a piece, then order up the greasable variety, that way I would at least have use of the truck while the new shackles were being shipped. Soooo...I go to the Toyota dealership and they wanted $80 a piece for that piece of junk:pat:  I could make a stronger one out of a 2x4 and a wire hanger! Soooo...I went to a local 4x shop (Billybob's
) and bought two HEAVY DUTY shackles with 1.5 inch lift (didn't really want the extra lift, but hey, it is the Munstermobile after all) for $60 FOR THE PAIR!
I was laughing all the way to the bank after that!

Hi Scott, looking forward to the pics when you get them.
I just saw a bumper the other day on the 'Net that was an ARB and he had used those 4 holes for some yellow tow hooks.
Can't find the picture anywhere right now.
Billybobs, the woman who has cut my hair for many years only deals with that shop.
She drives a gold '91 or so Land Cruiser.
Sounds like you got a great deal over going to the dealer too.
Putting that bumper on yourself had to be a PITA.
They are the beef

Hey, just read your leaf spring install problem, I'm about to change my crap stock one's with Alcans. Anything I need to know about taking off my old springs? I want to re-use my shakles if I can, don't care about my u-bolts though. Did you need crazy long breaker bars, liquid wrench, anything else I should know? Thanks
