Exclamation "harry's you pull it" Hazelton, PA

Took a ride to "harry's" today (that's funny, my name is harry). I had the day off, and with the project on hold until I find a frame (and now a front axle) I thought I'd drive down there (3.5 hours). Might have made better time if it wasn't for the 31's and 4:10's
I found a black 1982 Toyota pickup.
I took the BIG hose from the recirc door to the blower motor, the front fenders (NO RUST ), 2 fender liners, valance panel, fuse box cover and glove box latch. Had to evict a bunch of bees from the inner fenders (no stings and not one bee was harmed in the removal of said parts).

Total came to around $100 (plus gas money and lunch)

It was my birthday yesterday, and I always buy myself something

Wow 3 1/2 hours to Harry's. I live only about an hour from there and only make it like once a year. I need to head down there and look for some seat replacements.

I normally go there looking for something specific but come home with a bunch of crap I dont really need. Glad you did better.

1st. Happy belated Birthday.

2nd. Brakleen is a must have at the junkyard, not only for cleaning but killing bees, spiders, etc.

vise-grips! I forgot mine and thought I had to leave the fenders there. Next time I'll bring more tools.

this black 82 u speak of is missing the driver door isnt it hahahaha

its on my truck now!

anywho, harry's is ok, they dont stick to their prices at all, me and my buddies went on $7 tire day (wensday) and it announced on the radio on the way there and it was on the sign that day...got up to the check out with 2 33s (about 75% off brand muds that were a bit dry rotted) and the girl was the most empty headed person ever..and she said $30 a tire...pshhhh we took um back and through um next to a random ford..

another place to go which i think is alllllot better than harry's is called EZ Pull/Joe's in New Ringold PA http://www.joesusedautoparts.com
great place i was there on saturday, its alot less orginized than harry's but the truck section alone is as big as harry's tons of Toyota's (including an 82 p/u black longbed with a sunroof) at least 10 samurais, tons of Full Size Jeeps and even 3 Scouts and some International P/u's, they stick to there prices i got a spare 235/75/15 BFG at for my jeep on a wheel for $15, the tire still had the nubbies on it!

Thanks for the link. Can you pull the parts yourself, or do they?

pull yourself, same deal as harry's, even has a little lunch trailer inside like harry's, they have a manual tire machine inside that you can do yourself, more of a "junkyard" feel to it, good place

fourbangin took my door!
The pass door had some rust on the bottom, I left it. I thought I was going to have a hell of a time finding the hose for the recirc door. I got it for free

I'm gonna head up to joes first, then have a look at the stuff in the Allentown location.
I should put my 4:56's in first, they're just sitting in my friends garage.

I wanted to head down there this weekend but everytime I go to Harry's it is picked clean. How many Toyota trucks are there? Also when do they rotate for the new ones to come in?

They had a couple of 2nd and 3rd gen pickups, didn't count. I saw two gray dash pads that would fit on my 89 (no cracks). I don't know how often they rotate the trucks. Poconojack or 4banginrunner might know.

Everything seems to sit at harry's until it is picked clean if you ask me. When looking for Honda parts there a few time there were cars with nothing left on them that wasn't broken. I would guess they take out the most picked clean ones once they get something to replace it.

they get new stuff in every monday, get there EARLY if ur looking for 22R (E) heads or 3rds they are always gone 1st
some times the trucks sit for at the most i have seen is 1 month, depending on the high dollar parts still available on it
