Grille... OEM or Aftermarket?

Found this on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/87-88...QQcmdZViewItem

In general, are there really any problems with these "aftermarket" OEM replacements?

I'm gonna bump this thread up a few years

I'm looking for a new grille for mine as well. An original OEM, even used, in good condition seems to be both hard to find and of course very pricey. Is there anything wrong with the ones mentioned above? Or this one that I found on ebay? There seem to be few options on ebay, any other good website to check?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Pick-Up-Truck-89-90-91-Grille-W-Molding-/291045119939?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1991%7CModel%3A4Runner&hash=item43c3a417c3&vxp=mtr
Also, I haven't looked closely yet, but it seems like on my 91 4Runner the headlight area has seperate frame/bezel that screws in with the middle grille portion.. does this sound right? Because most I find online seem to be one piece, and the 3 piece ones are for up to 89 models....

I took a look at this earlier today and in fact it is 3 pieces, I need the driver side headlight frame/bezel piece.

Anyone have an aftermarket brand one they wanna share info about.....?

Rockauto.com may have something.

Find it at a junkyard if you can! I wanted one for my T100, the part is cheap, but everywhere I tried the shipping was stupid expensive.

Rockauto doesn't have a good option.

My Runner is 91.....

and, CJM, the junkyards nearest me are a pain. The owners are trying to get rich on every part! The cheap ones NEVER have 4Runners or the pickups.. After having wasted many hours wihtout a single piece of item to show for it.. i mostly quit on the junkyards around me.

I know in Duarte there are big and decent junkyards.. but that's a hassle to get to.

Funny thing, I literally can not find an aftermarket headlight bezel/door for my year. The OEM is like $140.. ridiculous.. lol. I see some plastic welding and painting in my future

Junkyards are the way to go.

Hell, even Craigslist might have somebody parting one out.. Atleast you aren't looking for an 88-89 v6 grille, they're even harder to find.

MaK, i have been trying craigslist on an off. There are usually one or two people parting out.. but I have yet to get one of them to respond when I ask for a few things. lol..

I have been finding most of my parts on ebay for pretty cheap. For example I bought a few of the center console switches for like 8 bucks shipped, wiper motor for 18 bucks shipped.. etc.. a little patience and some dealing with the seller you can get a good enough deal not to drive to junkyard

keep in mind that the 4wd trucks use the same front end. I have 4runner fenders on my truck now.
