What Tires for Stock 87 Runner?
Hey guys... I'm going to be looking into getting new tires soon and I was wondering what is the largest size tire I could use with my stock suspension and stock wheels.
Current Tires: P225/75R15
Current Wheels: Toyota 15x7JJ-15 00T
I don't really care about on-road manners, as the truck is just for offroading on the weekends. I live in California, so I mostly encounter rocky and sandy terrain, or both mixed. I would like to get a nice size tire with good off-road ability to hold me over until SAS/Lift in a year or so.
Thanks in advance!

I have 31's on my stock wheels and they fit easily. I know you can get 33's under there but forget exactly what is required. I think some pinch weld hammering and T bar crank. Maybe 1 inch body lift. I forget if the t bar and BL are an either/or situation or if both are required. And you will want 33's in a 10.5 width. 9.5 is also available. However I personally wouldn't like 33's with my stock gearing. The 31's are about the limit for my taste. I'm on the way to highly modifying mine, but if I had it to do over again, I'd go something like this:

I've been on trips with Steve in that thing and it rocks. Plus you still have all the efficiency of stock gearing. Instead of spending all the dough to fit big tires, I would lock both ends and armor it up first, and get a 4.7 gear in the t case. Just my 0.02.

Thanks for the offer man. I'm not quite ready to buy yet, but I appreciate the offer.
