HG replacemnt teardown - Pulling dist ?

Hey all:

We're getting there. Pulled throttle cables, vacuum hoses (yes we marked them) etc. Going to remove the EGR, fuel rails, plenum & hopefully intake tomorrow.

Question I have - FSM says to pull distributor. Since I am going to change the timing belt anyway, should I mark the dist. position?

Hope you'll forgive my remedial questions. Thanks for the help. Am sure I'll be asking more.

Respectfully,

DJ

I would. I mark on it the base of it where it mounts to the block/head and also where the rotor is when its on TDC of #1 compresion inside the Dist body. Out of old habit, i always set the engine to TDC #1 compression before i take it apart, i just makes it so much easyer to check what someone else has done or when you put it back together. Good luck.
