TJM Bumpers?

Hey guys, I just got into an accident with my 87 Runner and need to do some front end replacement. I'm thinking of going with a TJM-T17 front bumper from 4by4connection.com... what do you guys think of these?

Thanks in advance!

I dunno... It LOOKS nice, but I dunno if it's really a deer slayer. Looks too shiny to be a deer slayer. Maybe 20mph bump into a tree hugger's all plastic hybrid strong, but not swerving at 70mph to hit that deer caught in the head lights at 2 in the morning strong.

Now THIS is a deer slayer:

See that curved bar on top? Really helps to push lower forms of life (hippies, ect) down under the truck instead of up into your windshield. Though tall people may still give you problems....

I got a T-17 on my 91. I haven't gotten around to deer hunting with it yet, but as it stands, it is a big improvement from the stock bumper. And as silly as this sounds, i love how wide it is, like a shelf for tools and screws when working in the engine bay.

TJM makes quality stuff, I know a couple of people who have the T-17 and it's well made, good fit. One good thing about mass manufactured bull bars is the finish. They are big places and have lots of resources, so the process they use to clean and powdercoat them makes the finish pretty bulletproof.

As far as strength of the Aussie bull bars, this guy hit a 1500 lbs moose at 65MPH up in Canada.

No, you are right, that's an ARB. Just used it as an example. TJM makes similar bars, they call them commercial bumpers or something. The T-17 doesn't have the grill guard part, but the lower section is pretty much the same winch bumper.
