1995 Toyota 4runner SR5 - North Carolina

Well, the time has come. I'm selling my 4runner so that I can upgrade to a new truck. It is a 1995 4runner SR5 with the 3.0, Automatic, and 4x4. It has a 143,xxx miles.

The good:
-Front end just rebuilt - (New tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, ball joints upper and lower)
-New brakes front and rear
-Top end rebuilt
-Custom roof rack with 4 baja lights
-Manik brush guard with 2 hella 500s
-New rear bumper
-New alternator
-New water pump
-New timing belt
-1 inch body lift from WabFab
-31x10.50 BFG ATs
-Vortex muffler with 2.5 inch pipe out the back
-Sunroof!!

The bad:
-Power steering pump whines a little bit at startup
-One small rust bubble on rear tailgate
-A small bit of rust on bottom of rear passenger door
-Small spot of clearcoat is coming off hood and a few little spots on the drivers side front fender
-Small oil leak (a few drops every now and then)

It is a great truck. Served me well for the 2 years that I have owned it. It runs great its just time for me to get a new vehicle. I hate to see it go but i gotta do what i gotta do.

I can get you pictures of anything you want, just let me know. I'm located in Kinston, North Carolina

Price: $4000 obo

hahaha, i realized that I also suck at taking pictures.

Not sure yet. I need a vehicle to pull trailers with and I like the idea of a V8. There is a possibility that i'll be getting our 00 Jeep Grand Cherokee as a graduation gift Saturday so we will just have to see. I'll take free over a car payment anyday.

Could you send some more pics to clark.michael.james@gmail.com ? Also, I assume the top end rebuild was due to bad headgaskets? Does it burn any oil since then? Also, was it a diy or was the work performed by a shop? Thanks!

Michael

The headgasket blew at 142,xxx and I had all the work done at a shop. It does not burn any oil. I'll send you some pictures and i'll also post some up here.

Hey Kyle, deciding to sell the runner huh? 4k is a very good asking price, and based off of what I've seen on other rigs both here and TTORA, I wouldn't move too much from that figure. A big BUMP for your sale!

Congrats on your HS graduation this coming weekend! What do you plan to do afterwards? College? If you don't get the Jeep as a gift, you should look into a used V8 Tundra for hauling and towing. Plus it will still allow you to still do some offroading! The 4.7L I-force V8 is the same engine used in the Lexus GX400 which is the full size Lexus SUV, and that engine and drivetrain is VERY solid. Consumer reports along with many other independent research firms rates the older Tundra's very high in performance and reliability. If you get the Jeep, stay on the board and be yotatech's token Jeep guy! Good luck with everything and take care!

Thanks man and thanks for the bump. Right now, i'm just looking to get rid of it. I'm not trying to make any money on it, I just need it gone so that I can move on.

PMed you about the rest.

What was the final verdict on all the engine trouble? I saw that you had the hg replaced and then after you got it back something else went wrong.

Hey man, pictures are on the way. Sorry, I had to run out to graduation practice. We got the problem solved. As it was explained to me by my mechanic "the key that holds the gear on the camshaft had sheared off causing the gear to still be spinning with the timing belt and the camshaft to be sittin still in the head". He replaced the key (which is just a little bar of metal) and everything is running great. Anymore questions, just feel free to ask.
