*nebbie* my truck
I bought my 1995 Toyota 4Runner from an auction. When it was towed it my house it has a blown out tire. While we were replacing my back tire we realized that my differential was bent to one side. I had to go to a junkyard to buy a new differential (i bought a tire rim while i was there too)
along with my differentials being bent there were some other minor problems. Plug... which no told me are a bitch to change on a v6 4runner
I spent 3800 dollars including my truck, my differential, Four new tires ( BF-Goodrich 31" by 10.5" R15 A/T ) Plugs, and exhaust tips

Just take your time,
and drive at what you feel is comfortable,
you don't want to end up over a cliff do you lol!
Yeah same here, but take your mods one at a time, you already got a good start with the BFG A/Ts
As for the Bull Bar, Ebay, Criegs list, And the market place here, keep a look out.

Very next things to do...
1. Goto Dealership and verify, if you've the 3.0, that the headgasket and steering rod relay recalls apply, if they were done, and when.
2. If the heads been replaced, or not, consider a complete cooling system flush, and timing belt replacement. Use as close to 100% coolant as possible, plus anti-rust, trust me on this, it'll keep a lot of control on things, preventing stuff from going astray later. **Have the engine and radiator completely flushed and blown out also.

But I have one friend that has a pick up with it and he has a CAI iirc and he is happy with it.
Another friend has a flowmaster on his and he is rollin along pretty nice himself.
I only dream of working for Toyota.
When a novice like me knows more about my truck then the techs there, makes you wonder.
I would be more in it for the parts though.
And def like Four Runner stated.
Find out about those recalls!

Congrats on figuring out your truck is slow!
For engine/performance mods I would recomend
headers, full exhaust with hi-flow cat (2.25" is best), also check out the Weasy2k cams, nice performance upgrade , also lower the temp to prevent another popped hg.
Or you could swap a 3.4L engine in. Pretty popular swap (along with chevy 4.3 and 5.7L, ford 302)

mmm that 3.4l is so nice.
(me having one in my 3rd gen)
Hooked up with a headers, hi-flow cat and a trd exhaust ooo so nice, and then the possibility of adding a supercharger. Oh yeah.
but I am getting a little off topic.
Jay has the idea though.
Def with the temp issue.
The head gaskets on those 3.0 are a bugger
