Hello To All, my Dad and I are about to ventur into rebuilding my turbocharged engine, in my 86. I was wondering if you guys might have a parts lists from yall's rebuilds, any useful tips from past experiences? At the monment I am mainly just trying to gather all the parts I am going to need for this rebuild. Any info at all is greatly appreciated! Thanks alot!

The 22RTE isn't very different from the 22RE or 22R rebuild. The main part that you may have trouble finding (and may be incorrectly listed as the same as a 22re) is the oil pump.
www.engnbldr.com has complete rebuild kits for that motor at very reasonable prices. He sells quality stuff. Consider upgrading to his stainless valves, otherwise be sure to keep your 22RTE exhaust valves.
Other advice is to take a TON of photos during teardown.
You really can't buy parts until you've got it torn down as you'll need to order the correct oversize of bearings and pistons.
Have the turbo checked out while the motor is out. It's much less expensive to replace seals and bearings now.. If you wait until it fails, the price will go up by about 300%.

I rebuilt my 22RTE using Teds parts, and it's working out pretty well.
Due to some nastyness, I replaced my stock timing cover with an EB 22R/RE/RTE cover. I also used an EB turbo oil pump, according to Ted it puts out about 4% more oil...enough to make a difference I don't know, but it's working, and it's only a couple $$$ more than a regular EB pump.

I did a bunch of work on my truck this winter, just to find that the turbo is toast. which means that it'll remain out of commission until I can afford to do something about it (most likely just drop in a 22RE).
