Bunce School Road - Sat. 12th

I am planning a trip to Bunce this coming saturday (the 12th of May) and will be there from about 1100-1930/2030 hours (should it work; it shouldn't be a problem for me to go). Anyone from the area or who will be in the area is more than welcome to join me up there. I'll be in the silver '93 and I always go in the Highway 72 entrance (Trail 217) when I'm in my truck. Come up there, and we'll have lunch somewhere off the trail and talk about the ATV meeting that went down on Monday and how we have to be very careful up there.

I am really looking forward to meeting some of you; hopefully I can at least meet a few people on here on saturday.

Post in here and let me know if you can do it... (my PM box is almost full, so please don't PM me unless it's about the DVD box set).

Take care guys...

Bunta

ah yes. Molly said something about you being out of town.... thanks for the reply though.

I've gone alone before, and I really don't mind it; sometimes I actually like it, especially during that perfect time in winter when the snow is so hard packed that you can veritably fly across it without tearing anything up, and almost no one is up there with you. You know what I mean by that? Those trips are really peaceful and enjoyable.

I'm sure that someone else from the area just might be able to make it though.

Enjoy your time over there, man.

Take care,
Bunta

Both of my vehicles are in need of maintenance. I've been short on time to keep up on it recently. Have to give them both a tune up, oil change, replace one of the O2 sensors on my Saturn, etc.

Never been to Bunce, sounds like fun.

I have just decided that me, my dad, and my neighbor will no longer be going over there tomorrow. After hearing what Vicki said about the nails and screwdrivers in the trail, I'll probably drive over and hike around a bit, just to investigate, but I won't drive the trail until things cool down. Read the following post to see what I mean:

Those who suggest "vigilante enforcement" are criminally insane and should be found and interrogated, Gestapo/SS style. I say that because this really hits home for me, not because I am a Nazi (I'm not; I am a proudly serving American citizen).

I'll probably go over and talk to Jeff and Vicki tomorrow; I'll let you guys know their take on the subject. This does legitimately concern everyone who posts to this forum, since such behavior could spill over into (god forbid) other trail systems, and even other states.

I want you all to know that this is an extremely serious issue, especially for those of us in Boulder County.

thanks for posting the link in here, man. I wouldn't have known otherwise.

I think I am having a serious preconception that someone will be seriously injured or killed up there....

Please pray, especially my fellow Christians. It has been and still is bad up here.

We've all gotta team up and "put it in 4L" if we're gonna make it thorough this one...

we had something similar happen on the trails we ride dirt bikes on in a local state park...they are small trails, and are open to anyone who know/wants to ride there...we keep the trails up, and clear, and we have actually even added some trails that help out a lot and keep riding a lot of fun...well i guess someone knew where we entered the trails from and decided they wanted to total jerkoffs. the part of the trail where we enter from is flat, and then drops down a bit, and you can see over the edge, but only what is maybe 10 feet in front of you, well someone built up some stones and tree limbs there...thank god my buddy was in front of me on a 4 wheeler...he hit it and bounced ontop of it and got stuck, i was able to stomp the brakes and swing the bike sideways and got within inches of slamming the back of the atv

So Bunta you won't be going then? Call me tomorrow either way and maybe I will come hike it. Like I said in my PM (before I knew your box was full) I think the part between where you break off to the Iron Clads and to the Forest Service Gate must be where the nails are because like 7 yotas ran the Iron Clad rout on the 5th and had no problems. Yes this is serious. Yes I will talk to Deputy S. about it. We want to use the trails responsibly and want the landowners to also understand that they live on a publicly traveled Forest road. Both groups get to have fair and responsible use. Nails in rocks and logs is NOT RESPONSIBLE use but like you said a vigilante tactic!
