Fuel gage issues
ok, a year or so back my fuel gage started to act up. (after a wheeling trip) when full it will read full untill it hits 3/4 then drops to empty. if i run it down my low fuel light will come on. this makes me think that maybe the gage is the culprit and not the sending unit. any thoughts. ( i think I asked this long ago, but I'd like to see if there's any fresh ideas)
thanks

Sorry, not much help, but my '88 does the same exact thing. Haven't gotten to troubleshooting it yet, since the Odometer still works.
Should be pretty simple to check the sender, though, with your Ohm-meter.
The online FSM (for '93) says 3 Ohms for a full Tank, and 110 Ohms for an Empty one. I'd assume the 1st Gen readings would be the same, if not close.
