Question What is the thread size of the oil pressure sending unit?

Hi all, I have an 85 Runner with a 22RE. I just bought a mechanical oil pressure guage to find out what pressure I actually have. The kit came with an 1/8" NPT fitting but that wont thread into my block. The auto parts guy says they are all the same but I am sure I need a metric adapter. I just need to know what size thread the sending unit is. Please help!

How much did you pay b/c I need one when I first start up my new longblock...

I can probably figure out the thread size tomorrow as I have a tap and die set and can pull the plug from my old block.

My local auto zone had them on sale for $16.95. It is a SunPro 2"guage. I prefer auto meter guages but they run $35 plus. I just want to know my approx pressure and compare it to what my dash guage reads.

On another note, I bought a complete 22R used even had a flywheel and carb still on it but how do you tell the year. I am guessing it is a pre 85 because the valve cover is more rounded than the one on my 85 EFI. Will my EFI stuff bolt on to this motor or were the heads redesigned? Hoping to build a long block for a spare!

Actually, not metric, it is:
- 1/8"x28 BSP

Just hit the search button on many of the pages. Takes you to:

Search for "sender thread" and that page will come up.

Summit Racing and JEGS both have the adapters in stock. But its like $12 for a little peice of brass. Kinda crazy when my triple pod was only like $25, yeah I got the white face SunPros too lol. I ended up getting the adapter from a little tuner shop here in town for a few bucks

Thanks all. I also surfed the net and came up with a place here in MI. They have an adapter that allows you to keep the factory sender and it has two
1/8" NPT ports.
