V8 Swap Conversion 2WD Pickup

I'm just about dead set on putting in a 350 sbc into my truck. I have been hunting and hunting for information about these swaps and can only find bits and pieces here and there. So far i've got all the downey conversion manuals and such. I was just wondering if there was anywhere else people have found info that would be helpful in accordance with one of these swaps. Thanks yota tech

I would think that you should step up to a bigger rear end....i believe the 2wd trucks came with the 7.5" ring gear.....probably want to step up to at least the 4wd rear end (8") or something bigger than that depending on how much power you're expecting out of your 350.

Why not keep it all Toyota,I wanted to do a swap also, and was looking at
two v8's one lexus one tundra. And the 7mgte.I just don't see why put a Chevy in a Toyota.I saw on barret jackson there was this Shelby GT500 beautiful car,but they put a Chevy BB in it.What a waste, even the commentators said so.

on this note, i was thinking i wanted to just swap in a full tundra drivetrain. i'm thinking the 5.7L iForce V8. those things are beasts...but then i thought about doing a chevy too, just because it'd be cheaper to get the block.

does anyone know if that would cause any major problems or could it be done just like a 3.4 swap?

I'am putting a 2UZ in my 93 2wd. I'am lacking one of the two harnesses. I already got the motor, trans, ecm and engine harness. All that I'am lacking is the cab harness with the fuse/relay box. I have yet to see any of the UZ motors in 2wd trucks. We seen the 1uz in the 4wd trucks but no 2UZ in any of our trucks.

Advance adapters has everything you need for the SBC. This guy did it: http://www.tacomasrunner.com/index.html

There are numerous 1UZ swap threads on the first page of results. If you want info spoon fed, try Pirate4x4.com.

Gee...thanks for hijacking another dude's thread asking for information that is plastered all over the place. The responses you got to this were spot-on.

If you have questions about a 1UZ swap, look in the engine swaps section and do a search for "1UZ".

If you still have questions about it after that, post a thread in the Newbie Tech Section.

I moved this thread to the Domestic Swaps section, by the way.
