Thumbs up what do you think about mod???

Right now I am planning to rebuild my extra 22r, I am rebuilding it from top to bottom. New crank, Rods, master rebuild kit, going with oversized valves on head with 261 cam, and portwork. At the moment I already have 38mm weber carb, Headers, and proflow exhaust. Everthing else is new but engine. I wanting to go with a GSXR 1000 FI set up, It will line up perfect with the sidemount intake. My friend can make me an adapter manifold so it will line up. I never heard of anything like this being done before, all I am wondering is if the GSXR 1000 FI will be enough for the fuel/air demand that the motor will need. Do you think this is overkill or a good idea for performance?

Oh yeah one more thing. The GSXR 1000 FI has 4 throttle bodies next to each other, so it would be 1 throttle body per cylinder.

Its still a 22R behind the EFI. It would be much easier to put a Toyota FI on it. I don't see the reasoning behind doing all that work. I also don't think that those injectors would have enough flow for a 2.4L engine. But good luck if you want to just see if you can do it.

All that valve work, porting, exhaust work, is going to be lost if you're just running a 261 cam.

Individual throttle bodies - this has been done, many times as you are describing, low budget with bike throttle bodies.

The cheap standalone EFI setup of choice is Megasquirt for something like this.

Search on http://vwvortex.com for info on this. I've also seen it done on a 240sx on http://ziptied.com.
