My first set of sliders, done!

Finally got around to building a set of sliders for my truck. I've had the JD2 bender and software for a little while now and have been doing little things here and there. Well it was finally the truck's turn to get something made for it. The tube is 1.75 x .120 HREW tube, didn't spring for DOM because I'm a beginner at this. Also with the way I drive, there shouldn't be a problem with these holding up for some time.

So first the design of what I wanted

Next was of course to make them

Hold them up to the truck and take some measurements for the frame stand offs

Finished product in the wee hours of the morning

Might get to try them out next week while I'm in Arizona hitting a couple trails and doing some So far the only test was to place the high lift on the rear kick out and jack away. Lifted one side of the truck up off the ground with no problems

It's called Bend-Tech, I'm running the Pro version. Bought it from www.bend-tech.com the same time I bought my JD2 bender. Really easy to use and the tech support is top notch

My welding skills aren't up to a level ready for public consumption just yet. Not all turn out like the one pictured below

Welding that inside 45 is a bitch aint it. What I find helpful is to tack-weld that inside angle until a point at which you can merge it with the outside. Good looking sliders. I'm attempting a front bumper as we speak.

I'm down here in Arizona on vacation and got to try those sliders out. Took a little trail ride out near Florence to see the Martinez Cabins and to hit up the ledge I saw last year. Here's a 7 meg video (click me) of me going up it. Didn't have the front locker turned on because of not wanting to risk breaking a stock birfield. Hit the passenger slider 3 times, not real bad but enough on one to put some nice scrape marks in.

Great job with the sliders! The design looks great. You should post these pictures over on The OFN. Cris, the maker of Bend Tech, frequents that site a lot and I know he'd love to see this.
