Where to get a new Head Gasket-22RE

My 22RE blew white smoke, lost coolant, did not overheat, and has a trace of water in the oil..so where is the best place and price to get my head gasket kit? Do I need new head bolts? It was running great when I shut it off, do I need to worry about the lower end having problems because of the HG? Any info is appreciated...thanks.

The dealership sells a head rebuild kit that is very reasonably priced. Or use EngineBuilder. I have personally never used that company (all my stuff is OEM) but I have heard good things.

I just ordered a HG set and timing chain set (w/ steel guide) from engnbldr.com 102 to the door, and its all inclusive....

22RE's do not require new headbolts...

I had done several gaskets on the kids truck. Finally went with OEM. Has pics of gaskets.

The difference was like an armored car next to a yugo

Thanks everybody...what are the chances of other damage to the engine as a result of the blown HG? I did not find but a dime size spot of chocolate milk oil under the oil cap after I shut her down, and she was running excellent.

Sounds like you caught the problem right away. I would expect minimal to no damage done to the bottom end. Get a good headgasket as mentioned above and if you've got the extra cash I'd go for new head bolts also.

Depends on how long your ran it and if it got enough water in the pan to get sucked up in the pump.
