FJ ROOFRACK ON 95? What ya think?

I saw an FJ Roofrack in a junkyard near me. I put it on top of a 90-95 model 4Runner to see what it looks like...I think it looks great!!!!. It will have to be modified to fit. Should i try or will it be a waste of time? I just hate to see the FJ Roof rack going to waste..I could make it a Photo project to post here.

An FJ in a junkyard already? It would look cool though.

So was it a trashed FJ, or just the rack?

Gas mileage may suffer slightly more with the bulk of the rack in front, but it doesn't get great mileage to begin with. Plus with it in front you can mount lights to it. Do a writeup on the install.

Well i test fit the pieces on the roof of the 4Runner and of course some mods will have to be done. First of all the roof rack has to be narowed. the FJ roof is a few inches wider. The FJ roof also slopes down in the rear so the front tubes have to be shortened. This is easy as the attachment point can easily be moved. Th rear of the roof rack joins in the middle and is also easy to narrow a few inches. The cross braces also have adjustment to narrow them a few inches..some trimming of the ends may be necessary. Here are some more pics of what i am up against .By the way..this roof rack is VERY light...maybe 25 lbs or less it is made of aluminium tubing.Just let me know what you think so far..dont want to cut the rack or drill my truck until i am very sure.
