Trouble wiring up my map lights

So I picked up a set of factory map lights at the wreckers a while back and i finally got around to wiring them up the yesterday and I ran in to a small problem...

I extended the wires from the map light to reach the centre light but when I tried to figure out which one to hook up to which lead I ran into a problem
The door light switch does not work with the maplights.
Selecting the maps to "door" turns both on (as it should with the door open) but when I close the door they stay on...until I select "door" off.
the individual map light switches switches work as normal.
I can live with this but I would like them to work properly.
Does anybody have the wiring schematic for the interior lights on a 94 4wd pick-up? If so can you send me a copy or linky?
or baring that let me know where the two map wires go.
Thanks Aviator

For info the dome light is wired as follows:
Black = constant 12V
Black w/white stripe = door switch 12v power

map light
red w/ white stripe = ?
red w/ green stripe = ?

The closest I've got is a wiring diagram for a 95 4Runner and it shows the red/white connecting to the black, and the red/green connecting to the black/white. I can email you a copy if you send me an address.

Hate to dig up old thread but,

Aviator, did this work for you?

red/white connecting to the black, and the red/green connecting to the black/white

I'm about to do the same thing

Thanks,
