4WD Toyota Owner Magazine's FJ Cruiser BAJA RACER!

Yes, it's official: 4WD Toyota Owner will be entering our Toyota FJ Cruiser in the SCORE Baja 500 in June 2007 in Class 3!

We have put together a killer team of Scott Brady, Cain Smead and Mike Baker. Scott and Cain are Baja and race veterans who know the terrain and course very well. Mike is a 20-year ASE-certified tech who has worked on Toyotas ONLY for the last two decades. When something breaks, he can fix it!

This truck will serve double duty: both 4WD events, and of course the Baja 500! We will keep 4WD, and right after Baja we will take it on the Rubicon trail. It's going to prove that the FJ Cruiser can handle both worlds of speed and crawling equally well!

The real key is that this truck will be a bolt-on rig. No $20,000 axles that no one can really afford. We are going to equip our FJ Cruiser with the best off-the-shelf parts--All Pro Offroad, Total Chaos, Sway-A-Way, Mickey Thompson, IPF, and much more. ANYONE can replicate this without breaking the bank!

Click below for the basic web page showing our ever-growing list of sponsors and parts. Stay tuned to 4WD Toyota Owner mag for the action pics; I will also post spy shots here and on the web page. The truck had the Total Chaos long travel kit installed today at Demello Offroad. Next it's off to BK Fabworks for the roll cage, seats, fuel cell etc.

Click here for info and get your butts to Ensenada come June to see the 4WD Toyota Owner FJ Cruiser take on all comers!

David, looks good so far, but I'd seriously reconsider using that TRD intake. Gauze type air filters aren't good for offroad conditions. I'd go with a TrueFlow filter, if they have one that will fit. Those filters can handle quite a bit of dust ingestion and still breath well, I did a test last year and had a filter so plugged that I finally took it out.

Dave,

When is the next issue coming out? Seems like years between the issues!!! I hope you guys will go to a monthly publishing schedule someday - that way I am not high and dry for months :-) I need my fix man!

Thank you,

Chris (JDM guy)

I'm wondering the same thing....I subscribed in Feb. and I have gotten ONE issue to date. it was the March/April issue. They said the mailing list was screwed up or something to that effect, so I didn't get the May/June (I got the link to the online version, but that just doesn't do it for me.)

It's almost the end of august and I haven't gotten a July/August Issue....Does it come at the end of the month or what?

If the guy above me already has September.....I'm kinda wondering.

Yes, a while back. I think you definitely have a problem with your subscription.

When I first subscribed, I waited for a month or two for my first issue and when I became curious I emailed info@4wdtoyotaowner.com and they promptly answered saying they would send my first issue out that day. I had it in the mail the next day and haven't had a problem since. 2 year subscriber.
